2011 or 2005?

2011 wrx or 04-05 sti.... discuss!


My thoughts... in my senerio..

2011 WRX same monthly payment as 300C but now 4 years newer and prob 60-70K less miles and better MPG.

04-05 STI.... i love the looks and would save me 100 a month on payments give or take... problem is they all seem to have anout 60K miles and I travel a lot. I travel 20K miles just to work and back for a years worth of driving prob another 10K just to kentucky and back in a year. and then fun driving which is prob anohter 10K maybe less. Sooo potential to put 40K in a year means i am at 100K miles and still owe like 13-14K on the car... its just a slippery slope at this point on. 140K the year after and still have 3 years left to pay off 10-11K on the car. No the second year i prob will be closer to work.... maybe... prob not... so maybe 140K is pushing it but still oweing 11K on a car with that many miles might not be a good idea

SOOOOO 2011 WRX starting with ~10K miles... 50K after the first year and prob owe 18K for the car. second year 90K and owe 14K... hmmmm rawr either way this all hurts

or!! just stick with the 300C and pay the shit ton more in gas and the car has 78K miles now prob go up to 90K by the end of the year and i still owe 14K on it. prob owe about 12500 or something by then.... and i would only have like 3 years left at this point...


Gas calcs.... 80miles a day at 18.5-19 MPG in the 300C is 19 bucks a day to get to work i do that about 246 times a year thats 4674 in gas a year to get to work.

WRX ~ 16 bucks a day 3936/year
STI ~ 17 bucks a day 4182/year

So saving 738 bucks in gas a year to get the wrx i will end up owing more over a longer time frame.

Shit! I think since i have been paying more for my car over the last 2 years i can now pay less per month or pay it off early... but right now finacally the 300C is looking like a keeper :/ not the best for AutoX haha Maybe some sway bar mods might help me appraciate it more in the twisties ?

Oh god, you are worse then me when it comes to buying cars. Sti would be awesome. But I'm at a point where I did t want a huge car loan and love my choice so far. Who cares what you do, you will have something different in 6 months lol

Lol the goal isn't to have a new car in 6 months. I have had the 300c for 2 years now. I need to do what ever is more financially responsible. The sti fits the all around car more so than others but I just need to stick within my means . Having 2 cars isn't an option unless I went in on a car with someone.

yeah, idk. old wrx worked for me, but its not a daily driver, buuut would be fine as one. does sti meet your needs more cuz its fastar?

Financially responsible would be a Civic.

No it meets my needs of transmission suspension and awd.

I am also considering looking into getting the car for a year and selling too because I would go upside down on an sti pretty quickly with the amount of miles I will put on.

Same goes with the 300c too so I dunno what to do :/

Yeah I don't really want fwd. I really dO want to rallycross so awd would be ideal.

R32 is nice but harder to find low miles low price. Mazdaspeed6 is good too might be worth a look. Dsm doesn't fit the reliable factor at all lol.
